12 May, 1944 [Best Played vs Human] The remainder of the 127. Panzergrenadier Regiment have been surrounded in the town of Merefa by unknown Russian forces. Several attacks have been carried out on the town and beaten off but the Frontline is moving further away. Only a breakout will save the remnants from destruction. The German force are to breakout along the highway near Lekovo and race to the Frontline.
27th August 1941. [Best Played vs Human, PBEM or H2H] : Vaiatu Estonia : Of the 120 Divisions attacking Russia in June 1941, 91 of them were Infantry. Although the glory of blitzkrieg has lead one to believe that the German Werhmarct was a vast armoured formation, this wasn't the case. Many of the battles fought were infantry battles; in the forests, towns and villages that dotted the Russian landscape. This is one of those battles. The 442. Infantry Regiment was assigned the task of clearing the small town of Vaiatu, Estonia and create a bridgehead over the Kullavere River. The Russian defenders have had time to build moderate defenses. An assault company was to assist in the battle, but the company appears to be delayed.19 August 1942 [Best Played vs. Human, PBEM or H2H] : The Russian Navy during the summer of 1942 was quiet in the Baltic Sea. A plan had been brought into place to try amphibious landings on the shores of Finland to test the effectiveness. The location for the test was near the town of Puha. An Infantry Regiment was given the task of landing and razing Puha and secure the nearby hills and await until sundown to be taken back to sea. The town was unknowingly fortified by the Finnish forces whom were protecting a heavy artillery battery. The Russians were in for bitter fighting in the dense woods around Puha. Black Brigade v 2.0 by Maciej Dudkiewicz 2 September, 1939. Jordanow - 60 km S of Krakow (Southern Poland). Polish 10th Mechanized Brigade (called "Black Brigade" from their black leather jackets) commanded by Col. Maczek (later hero of Falaise 44 - see West Front scenario: "Closing the Pocket") was ordered to stop German von Kleist XXII Corps (2nd Panzer Division, 4th Light Division & 3rd Mountain Division) and save Polish Army "Krakow" from surrounding. Terrain is full of hills, forests and streams - use manouver against power! [updated to version 2.0] Fall Weiss by Thomas Hagman (Final Version!) [Note: This is a scenario 6 pack. All take place in chronological order. The following is the description of the first scenario.] 1 September, 1939. [Best Played as Axis] When the two battlegroups of 4.PzDiv crossed the Polish border they met very little resistance. The advance was quick, and was delayed more from destroyed bridges and bad road conditions than from enemy fire. Upon reaching the village of Opatow the Germans found the village lightly defended. The commander decided to continue the advance, and at the same time clear the way for the following elements of the division. II./12. SchRgt attacked the village, while I./36. PzRgt continued the advance eastwards. I./12. was ordered to turn north towards Rebielice, as the plan was to reach the Kocinka river before the end of the day. The Poles had another plan..... A Probe in the South by Dave Blackburn September 1st. 1944. Extract from orders received by Kampfgruppe Schwarze (KGS) 4 hours ago: "KGS is to move immediately to delay an armoured column probing south of our present positions. A map study by Ops. indicates good defensive terrain which could afford as many as 3 mobile lines of defence. You will use your own judgement to locate your units across the east-west axis of the enemy. As soon as our positions are realigned, we will send you the codeword "JAGUAR". On receipt of this you are to make a clean break and withdraw to your reserve location thru the exit point 0." July 5th-11th, 1943. The ramshackle village of Ponyri has become the focus of attention. Both sides after the battle liken it to a mini Stalingrad. The Germans want to break through the Soviet defence lines to release their panzers to the open ground to roll up the Russian line. They pour armour and men into the fight, the Russians are just as determined to resist the pressure. It's dawn and the battle has just started, some engineers are already trying to clear the extensive mines, for the Germans there is no rush, use your smoke and try to break out, for the Russians hold where you are. To recreate some likeness to the original most of the formations have been reduced to make the scenario manageable in East Front. An Impassable Marsh? by Dave Blackburn June 1944. Kampfgruppe Schwarze has been ordered to delay a Russian thrust until engineers can prepare a bridge for demolition. When ready, the engineers will give the order to the KG to withdraw thru them to the west. You must NOT move until you receive the order! The ground to the south looks like an impassable marsh, but Schwarze thinks it prudent to split his force......just in case. This scenario was designed to be played by the Germans. Stugs to the Rescue by Dave Blackburn June 1944. Kampfgruppe Schwarze has been ordered to defend Nevesskva, a small town with a bridge, but the importance of the town lies in the railway. You must try to hold it at all cost. Yesterday, defensive positions were prepared and as night fell the armour went back to refuel and replenish their dwindling ammo supplies. As dawn colored the morning sky, the infantry reported hearing many tracked vehicles on the east side of the river. The armour has been ordered to finish as soon as possible and then move at once to their predetermined firing positions. This scenario has been designed to be played by the Germans.
